We spent an afternoon poking around Christiana in Copenhagen. It’s a community that was formed when squatters took over an abandoned army base in the 60’s. It’s still going strong today, and is a testament to the power of community.
The place has obviously had its problems with drugs and it still has a “pusher” street where you can openly buy pot and hash, but it’s obviously very well cared for. No rubbish, well tended gardens and houses, and lots of really good graffiti art. There are a few galleries, which were mostly closed on Sunday afternoon, as well as the bike shop where Christiana bikes are made.

It’s a bit like a much bigger version of Tupong (the place where I live back home in Brisbane) and its given me heaps of ideas for making he place bigger and better!

Hey Giorgio, sorry we missed you on the ferry. I knocked myself out as soon as the boat started rocking! How were the Faroe Islands? Hope you had less rain than in Iceland!
