Tree? What tree?

Can you spot the tree?

Every rest area we came across seemed to be positioned in the windiest, most exposed, and not particularly scenic places. This was the source of continual disappointment for us, as each time we saw the sign on the road, we could not help but hope for some form of shelter from the cold, wind and rain. For such a cold, wet and windy county, we were surprised that there were not more spaces available where you could take shelter from the elements (even rest areas back home at least have a roof!).

  1. Sounds like cycling in Norway! In a country where it seems to rain every other day why do none of the rest areas have any cover? One day we had we had to have lunch in a drainage culvert as this was the only shelter from the wind/rain!
